Among the alleged perpetrators are the victim’s daughter, his former wife and son-in-law.
At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence against five people who would be involved in the kidnapping of a businessman in Los Patios (Norte de Santander).
The facts took place on July 31, when the victim was violently intercepted by three people when he was in the company of some relatives. They demanded one billion COP for his release.
Thanks to intelligence operations carried out by Gaula-Police and the Army, it was possible to locate the residence where the victim was. During a search warrant, the merchant was rescued and Víctor Manuel Agudelo Ordoñez and Yeison David Herrera Gómez were arrested in flagranti in a sector known as La Recta Corozal.
The evidence collected allowed to establish that the victim’s daughter, his former wife and his son-in-law were involved in the planning and logistics of the kidnapping, since the house where he was rescued had been rented by them.
For these facts, the Prosecutor’s Office requested arrest warrants against Yenny Paola Quintero Oyola, Luz Mila Oyola Sepúlveda, and Luis Arturo Rubiano Salcedo. They were arrested on August 5 and three cell phones were seized.
They were charged, according to their level of responsibility, with aggravated kidnapping for ransom and; manufacture, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition. They did not plead guilty to the charges.
