At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, the Superior Court of Neiva sentenced Rudesindo Urbina Martínez, alias Pedro Coral, to 36 years in prison for the murder of a man in Garzón.

This decision, that was made in a second instance, revokes the ruling issued by a judge of the specialized circuit of Neiva who, on September 30, 2022, acquitted the convicted person.

The facts took place in November 2003 in a building in the rural area of Las Mercedes when Urbina Martínez arrived in the company of other people who would also be part of the Calima Block of the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia.

At the scene, they found the victim sleeping in a room and shot him repeatedly, causing his death.

Urbina Martínez was convicted for aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime and homicide of a protected person.
