At the request of a prosecutor from the so-called Unidad de Vida assigned to the Sectional Office in Risaralda, a judge imposed a preventive detention order in prison on Melissa Mazuera Silva, for her alleged responsibility in a homicide.
The woman was arrested on a public road in Pereira by the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) in compliance with a court order.
As it was established, Mazuera Silva apparently pretended to be the victim’s friend. On February 9, through text messages, she allegedly arranged to meet the victim at rural area El Aguacate, sector of Cestillal river in Pereira, where other people would be waiting to shoot him. The man died due to the severity of his injuries.
For these facts, Mazuera Silva was charged with homicide and manufacture, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories or ammunition. She did not plead guilty to the charges.
