The Attorney General’s Office prosecuted alleged members of the criminal group Los Mogra, which was involved in the local drug trafficking in Comunas 3 and 4, especially in the tourist and archaeological sector of Popayán (Cauca). Among those charged are 8 adults and 2 minors.
The narcotics were stored on sidewalks, trees, electrical boxes, retaining walls located in green areas, and then sold to tourists, passersby, among others.
The members of the criminal structure were arrested in simultaneous operations carried out by Sijín-National Police with support from the Grupo de Operaciones Especiales-GOES (Special Operations Group) in sectors identified with the largest drug trade activity.
A prosecutor from Estructura de Apoyo EDA (Support Structure) charged them, according to their level of participation, with conspiracy to commit a crime, use of minors to commit crimes and manufacture, trafficking and possession of narcotics.
A judge imposed a prison sentence on Cristián David Llantén Alegría and Jhon Sebastián López Prado. House arrest was issued to Dani Francisco Cortés Reyes, Nimer Antonio Mosquera Rodríguez, Jennifer Daniela Vidal Walton, Wveimar Andrés Ortega Salinas, José Armando Muñoz Gaviria and Juan Pablo Mosquera Enríquez.
For their part, two minors were sent to a preventive detention center.
