Preventive detention orders were issued by a judge on twenty alleged members of the criminal group Los Tanred, which was involved in the local sale of narcotics in Barbosa (Santander).
According to the investigation, this criminal group used minors to deliver drugs. In this way, it sought not to raise suspicions and evade the action of the authorities.
One of the ringleaders, apparently, used his own son so that he could deliver the illegal substances at home or hand-to-hand.
During 16 home searches that were carried out by Police and National Army in the Villa Paz, Villa San Pablo, Villa María, Uribe Uribe, El Centro, Gaitán, Cilla del Llano Alto neighborhoods and rural area of Cristales in the municipality of Barbosa, some drugs and cash, cell phones and two motorcycles were seized.
The Prosecutor’s Office charged the defendants, according to their possible individual responsibilities, to trafficking, manufacture or possession of drugs; use of minors in the commission of crimes and aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime. The defendants did not plead guilty to the charges.
In total, 17 of them will serve a sentence in prison, and the other three people must serve home confinement.
