The defendant allegedly broke into the victim’s house to attack him.

At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence  on William Antonio Martínez Polo for his alleged responsibility in the murder of a citizen in Cotorra (Córdoba) on May 7th.

According to the investigation, the victim was at home, in the company of a cousin and a co-worker and was attacked by the defendant who shot him repeatedly.

After the attack, Martínez Polo fled the scene while the victim was taken to the San Jerónimo hospital in Montería where he died as a result of the injuries.

A  prosecutor of the so-called Unidad de Vida in Córdoba charged him with homicide and manufacturing, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition. He did not plead guilty to the charges
