They used the lure of Santeria to attract victims. Then, they allegedly demanded victims money in exchange for not attacking their lives or revealing private information.

A prosecutor from Gaula Sectional Office in Tolima managed to prosecute three people identified as allegedly responsible for the crime of extortion.

Apparently they acted as shamans to offer their victims some Santeria services, but eventually, they demanded money in exchange for not attacking their lives.

People involved are José Luis Cortés Chaguendo, Óscar Andrés Becerra and Anyi Vanessa Mamian Ruales, who were charged with aggravated extortion, they did not plead guilty to the charges.

These people used social networks to attract clients interested in their alleged services, then, they threaten them and their families, if they did not agree to their financial demands.

Information collected by the investigators showed that the victims paid between 5 and 13 million COP to prevent them from exposing private content of the so-called sorcery sessions on social networks.

The people arrested were allegedly in charge of withdrawing the money that was sent to them as a result of extortion in several recognized banking entities in the country, and of keeping financial balances of the criminal structure.
