At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge sentenced Sandra Milena Sánchez Quintero to 8 years and 6 months in prison, for being co-author of aggravated criminal conspiracy and aggravated extortion.
The evidence presented by a prosecutor appointed to Gaula in Ariari (Meta) proved that between 2018 and 2020 Sánchez Quintero was a bill collector, along with other women, for the so-called ‘Clan del Golfo’ of money that farmers from Lejanías, Vistahermosa and Granada (Meta) had to deliver under threats.
The amounts were paid by the victims through money orders. That money was later delivered to Juan David Parra Contreras, alias Carlos or Miguel, leader of the ‘Clan del Golfo’ in the area.
The convicted person will have to serve a sentence in prison.
