The joint work of the Attorney General’s Office, the Police and Gaula of Urabá, allowed the arrest of six alleged members of the criminal organization ‘Coyotes’, involved in trafficking migrants to Panama.

The defendants, who were arrested in Cartagena (Bolívar) and the municipalities of Apartadó and Necoclí (Antioquia), were charged with aggravated criminal conspiracy and migrant trafficking.

According to the investigation carried out by a prosecutor from the Sectional Office in Antioquia, the ‘Coyotes’ would be demanding large sums of money for packages that would include crossing the country to Golfo de Urabá and subsequent transportation to the Central American country, violating immigration controls and protocols.
