A coordinated action between the Sectional Office in Quindío and the National Army allowed to dismantle the so-called Los Santa organization with the prosecution of seven of its alleged members who, apparently, would be responsible for the sale of narcotic substances in Quindío.
At the request of the prosecutor’s Office, a judge ordered a prison sentence for the six people. Another person is already in prison for another crime.
The conclusive evidence showed that the defendants were selling illicit substances in the so-called Comuna Dos in Armenia, near a sport field in Santa Rita neighborhood, as well as in recreational areas.
During the home searches, firearms, cash and different quantities of narcotic substances were seized.
Members of the Technical Investigative Corps (CTI) and the National Police arrested those people investigated on public roads and during search procedures carried out in Armenia.
The Prosecutor’s Office charged the defendants, according to their individual responsibility, with aggravated criminal conspiracy and trafficking, manufacturing or possession of narcotics. They did not plead guilty to the charges.
