The Office of the Attorney General brought charges against 12 people who, apparently, were part of the Apolo criminal group, for their alleged responsibility in the crime of traffic, manufacture and possession of drugs.

The defendants are Paola Urbina Ruiz, Germán Alberto Hurtado, Joan Sebastián Neira, Enderson Daniel Payen Velazco, Gabriel Jesús Hernández Velazco, Yohana Carolina Durán Blanco, Sergio Yovani Sierra Hoya, Rubén Santos Carrillo Quintana, Brehman Giovanny Rangel Gallardo, Jesús Alberto Contreras Gelves, Jeison Stiven Castro Martínez y Pedro Augusto Basto Castellanos. The defendants pleaded guilty to the charges brought by the Prosecutor’s Office.

The investigations against this criminal gang began in February after the community denounced the existence of a group involved in the commercialization of narcotics  in small quantities in sectors close to universities, schools, parks, market places and churches in Pamplona (Norte de Santander).

The arrests were carried out on June 2 by virtue of a court order by Sijin in coordination with National Army during nine raid procedures at various residences, located in the neighborhoods La Santa Cruz, Libertador, Tinto Redondo, El Carmen and Los Trece.

At the end of the hearing, the judge imposed a prison sentence against the 12 defendants.
