He was charged with aggravated homicide, aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime, and aggravated manufacturing, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition.

At the request of a prosecutor from the Special Investigation Unit (Unidad Especial de Investigación UEI), a judge imposed a prison sentence on Leonardo Yaruro Niño, alias Nene, an alleged hitman of the criminal group ‘La R’ who would be involved in the homicide of three reincorporated people, which occurred on September 6, 2019, in Cúcuta (Norte de Santander).

The evidence indicates that the defendant arrived at a hotel´s restaurant and, apparently, fired indiscriminately against the victims, identified as Milton Urrutia Mora, José Milton Peña Pineda and Arsenio Maldonado Gamboa.

Alias “Nene” was located in Venezuela by virtue of Interpol´s  blue notice and was sent to the country to answer for the triple crime. In addition, he appeared in a cartel of the most wanted alleged criminals in Cúcuta.

In this sense, the Prosecutor’s Office charged him with aggravated homicide, aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime, and aggravated manufacturing, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition.
