The Office of the Attorney General obtained a prison sentence against Wilson Alexis Álvarez Castañeda, alias Alexis, as the alleged perpetrator of aggravated homicide, illegal possession of firearms for personal defense and and aggravated theft.
According to the investigation carried out by a prosecutor from the so-called Unidad de Vida of the Sectional Office in Medellín, the defendant allegedly participated in the murder of Carlos Andrés Valencia Llano, driver of a vehicle, working for a digital platform for public service.
The victim was wounded with a firearm and his vehicle, his personal belongings and his identity documents were stolen. The facts occurred on June 23, 2022, in the Campo Valdés neighborhood in Medellín (Antioquia).
Álvarez Castañeda was arrested this December 2, by members of the Technical Investigation Corps and the National Police. The defendant did not plead guilty.
