According to the investigation carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office, the accused played the role of collector of the money derived from extortions carried out by the criminal organization

The conclusive evidence presented by a specialized prosecutor of the Sectional Office in Sucre allowed a judge to approve the request made in order to issue a prison sentence against Édinson Alexánder Buelvas Moreno for aggravated extortion with conspiracy to commit an aggravated crime with extortion purposes.

The accused, also known as ‘cachetes’, was arrested by virtue of a  court order in home search operations.

According to the investigation, alias ‘cachetes’, who allegedly belongs to the Clan del Golfo organization, played the role of collector of money derived from extortion carried out in Tolú and Coveñas.

The facts in which he participated have been occurring since December 2020, affecting merchants in the region.

Alias ​​’cachetes’, who did not plead guilty to the charges, was sent to La Vega prison.
