The defendant allegedly approached the victim when she was leaving her house on a bicycle.
The Attorney General’s Office brought a man before justice for his alleged responsibility in the commission of aggravated femicide. The defendant allegedly attacked his former partner on August 5 in Suba, northwest area of Bogotá.
According to the investigation, he apparently attacked the 25-year-old victim when she left her home located at the so-called Aures neighborhood on a bicycle. During the route, he took advantage of the fact that she was alone and defenseless and allegedly stabbed her chest and hands.
The evidence shows that the victim had decided to separate in mid-July due to the multiple physical and verbal attacks she suffered during seven years of coexistence.
The woman was taken to the hospital in Suba, but due to the severity of her injuries she died.
The man was arrested by the National Police and at the request of a prosecutor appointed to the so-called Unidad de Vida (Life Unit) of the Sectional Office in Bogotá he was sent to prison.
