Francisco Antonio Rodríguez Céspedes, Josué Andrés González Fonseca and Omar Ascanio Triana were prosecuted by the Prosecutor´s Office for the crime of extortion, after being arersted in flagrante delicto on March 18 by CTI members of Norte de Santander in coordination with personnel from the Army Gaula, in the urban area of ​​Cucuta.

The three men were identified by the victim as the ones who demanded the sum of COP 47 million pesos for the payment of an alleged debt.

The investigations showed that the defendants identified themselves as members of the Clan del Golfo armed group, apparently acting as a collection office.

Through threats, the victim agreed to a partial payment of COP 15 million pesos.

According to the judge´s decision, the defendants must serve a prison sentence in the so-called Modelo prison in the city of Cúcuta (Norte de Santander).
