Due to actions committed against the indigenous community in this area of the country, the Prosecutor’s Office obtained arrest warrants against four members of the so-called Jaime Martínez Mobile column.
The Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa Delgado, presented the results obtained thanks to the actions carried out by the institution in Cauca against the FARC dissents that would be involved in the criminal actions that took place in this area of the country.
In a joint work of the Office of the Attorney General, Army, Police and the Technical Investigative Corps (CTI), several hard blows were dealt against FARC dissents.
Results concerning the attacks committed against indigenous communities
The Prosecutor’s Office clarified the murder of the former coordinator of the Indigenous Guard, Jose Alveiro Camayo Guetio, perpetrated on January 24, in a rural area of Buenos Aires.
Due to this act that was attributed to the Jaime Martínez Mobile column, two arrest warrants were issued against Jaimes Alberto Peña Pisacue, alias Beto, and a minor who would be the alleged perpetrators of this crime.
This column would also be responsible for the attack committed against the Indigenous Guard in this municipality, in which one person died and another one was seriously injured, on January 14.
The investigation allowed the identification of two alleged members of Farc dissents to whom arrest warrants were issued.
Concerning the attacks committed against Dagoberto Ramos Column
The Prosecutor’s Office prosecuted Ferney Yafue Hilamo, alias Franco, leader of the Dagoberto Ramos mobile column, who was arrested on January 17.
‘Franco’, would be responsible for the car bomb attack carried out in the municipality of Corinto, on March 26, 2021, in which 43 people were injured, as well as, three homicides of human rights defenders and three people in process of reincorporation.
The evidence shows that this column would be responsible for the attack against an Army truck in Corinto on January 12 and the attack committed against Police members in Santander de Quilichao on January 23, where two of them were seriously injured.
Hard blow against the command (Comando Coordinador de Occidente)
In Toribio, Euclides España Caicedo, alias Jhonier, who would be the main leader of the so-called Comando Coordinador de Occidente died in a military action.
‘Jhonier’ would be one of the trusted men of alias Iván Mordisco and alias Gentil Duarte and the alleged responsible for controlling the routes and drug trafficking in the southwest of the country.
He would be in charge of an armed component of more than 1,000 men in Cauca and Nariño, and as head of the command, he would be responsible for several homicides and attacks that occurred in the department.
In 2021, the Attorney General’s Office managed to impact the command -Comando Coordinador de Occidente- with the arrest and indictment of 81 alleged members of this organization for crimes that affect territorial security.
Attacks against ‘Carlos Patiño’ dissents
After some confrontations with the National Army, on January 25, four alleged members of the Carlos Patiño dissents died in combat, including alias “Juan Carlos” and alias “Alacrán.”
Clarification of collective homicides in Cauca
Between 2020 and 2022, the Prosecutor’s Office achieved 88.24% progress in clarification of collective homicides of four or more victims in Cauca.
Among the crimes that were solved is the murder of 6 people that occurred in Tambo, on August 21, 2020. For this fact, three alleged members of the Jaime Martínez mobile column were sent to prison.
Also, the clarification of the death of 5 people in Algeria, which occurred on November 21, 2020, was achieved in two days. Two alleged members of the José Maria Becerra ELN front were prosecuted and were sent to prison.
On the other hand, about the collective homicides of six people that occurred in Tambo on September 20, 2020, arrests and detention measures were achieved against two alleged members of the so-called Jaime Martínez mobile column
Likewise, prison sentences against two alleged members of the Dagoberto Ramos mobile column were achieved as they were allegedly responsible for the murder of six people in Santander de Quilichao, on June 4, 2021.
