At the request of the Prosecutor’s Office, a court in Valledupar (Cesar) imposed a prison sentence against Carlos Andrés Gómez Chávez, Juan David De La Hoz Hernández and Boris Orozco Jiménez.

Their arrest was conducted when they demanded 100 million pesos from a farmer in Curumaní (Cesar).

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, these people would be allegedly responsible for the crimes of aggravated and attempted extortion and illegal use of uniforms and insignia.

The facts occurred on January 17 at a farm located in the rural area of Galaxia, the jurisdiction of Curumaní (Cesar), when Police officers arrested these three people, including two former police officers of the institution, when they apparently demanded the quantity of 100 million pesos from a farmer in the region supposedly to not carry out an arrest warrant against him.

It was established that the defendants pretended to be members of the Sijín, using Police identification and caps.
