Before a judge in Tuluá (Valle del Cauca), a 15-year-old adolescent pleaded guilty to murdering journalist Marcos Efraín Montalvo Escobar
The facts took place on September 19 in the municipality of Tuluá (Valle del Cauca).
According to the investigation, the minor would be the perpetrator of the aforementioned crime, which was committed in a public establishment in La Esperanza neighborhood where the social communicator was talking to another person.
As it was established, Montalvo Escobar was shot several times with a firearm from a motorcycle with two people.
The judicial police work allowed the Prosecutor’s Office to establish the full identity of the perpetrator of the crime. Therefore, it requested an arrest warrant against this person before a judge. This arrest was conducted by the National Police in Bello Horizonte neighborhood in Tuluá, on December 7.
The Prosecutor’s Office charged the minor with aggravated homicide and manufacturing, trafficking, or possession of firearms, accessories, parts, or ammunition.
The judge decided that the adolescent must remain in a preventive juvenile detention center.
