The Office of the Attorney General reiterates its commitment to guarantee the protection of rights of women who are victims of different types of violence.

Within the framework of the international cooperation, the Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa Delgado and the director of the EUROsociAL+ Program, Juan Manuel Santomé Calleja, signed a letter of intent with the aim of strengthening the gender perspective in the criminal investigations in which women kill their aggressor, within contexts of violence in their homes.

This work will improve the institutional response regarding criminal behavior of domestic violence, sexual violence and femicide, which is a priority in the Strategic Direction of the Attorney General Barbosa.

EUROsociAL+ is a cooperation program between Latin America and the European Union with more than 10 years of experience in institutional strengthening, supporting design, reform and implementation processes of public policies. It focuses its action in the areas of gender, governance and social policies. This program facilitates the exchange of experiences between counterpart institutions in both regions to improve capacities.
