55 criminal groups received a hard blow in 21 departments and three main cities. One of the arrested individuals allegedly had 27 registers about related facts.  

Within the framework of the strategy of the Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa Delgado, in the fight against those who commit crimes that threaten public safety, 226 people were arrested by virtue of a court order and 44 were arrested in flagrante delicto in an important national operation against those who affect the citizens’ economy  through theft in all its forms.  

A joint work between the Office of the Attorney General and the National Police through Interpol, allowed to give a hard blow against  55 criminal groups, to arrest and prosecute 270 people, 213 of them with a security measure, that is, 79 percent.  

The labor coordinated by the Delegate Director on Public Safety of the Attorney General’s Office, took into account the prioritized cases and the investigations that were carried out by the judicial police of the Technical Investigative Corps CTI of the Attorney General’s Office and SIJIN-Police. 

The operations were carried out in 21 departments and three main cities, Bogotá, Cali and Medellín. In the main city of the country, 14 criminal groups were dismantled, in Bolívar and Norte de Santander 4, and in Magdalena, Santander and Nariño 3. 

Likewise, the Office the Attorney General, through its information systems, was able to establish that 101 people of the 270 arrested people, had a recurrence of the commission of theft, that is, they have more than one registry in the oral accusatory criminal system SPOA. One of them allegedly had 27 registries, another one had 20 and another one 17.
