The Office of the Attorney General, through the Branch Office in Cundinamarca, investigates who are the alleged perpetrators of riots that took place on September 4, at the Police Station in San Mateo, municipality of Soacha (Cundinamarca), in which ten inmates were seriously injured and one died.
The officers of the Criminal Investigative Corps (CTI) collected evidence and summoned witnesses in order to clarify the facts and the circumstances of the fire and the reasons that originated the criminal act.
Likewise, testimonies of members of the National Police who were in the place of the events were obtained.
Meanwhile, nine inmates were sent to Hospital Simón Bolívar in Bogotá with severe burns on their bodies, while the other person remains at Clínica Cardiovascular del Niño in the same municipality, with a reserved diagnosis.
The investigation is carried out under the guidelines that were drawn up by the Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa Delgado, to clarify the facts that affect public safety.
