The defendant was charged with attempted murder on facts that took place in the city of Sincelejo (Sucre).
The Attorney General’s Office charged a 16-year-old minor who apparently attacked another minor and amputated his hand. He was charged with attempted and aggravated murder with severity for intolerance due to his sexual orientation.
A Court on children and adolescent matters approved the request made by the Office of the Attorney General and imposed a detention measure in a juvenile detention center. However, it was decided to substitute it for a month for house arrest, due to the measures adopted by specialized care centers (Centros de atención especializados CAE) which do not receive minors due to biosecurity conditions as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the hearings, the Office of the Attorney General announced that on July 31, 2020, in Altos del Rosario sector, in Sincelejo (Sucre), the defendant allegedly insulted and attacked another minor with a knife due to his sexual orientation which caused the victim to lose one of his arms.
