Foreign citizen known as the shoe smuggling czar ‘zar del contrabando de zapatos’ in Barranquilla was prosecuted

A joint work between the Office of the Attorney General, the Tax and Customs Police, and Dian*. 

 A prosecutor of the Branch Office in Atlántico filed charges against the Taiwanese citizen Ming Chuan Tu before the 14th Municipal Criminal Court with supervisory functions in Barranquilla (Atlántico). The above-mentioned person is accused of smuggling merchandise into the country and he is known as the shoe smuggling czar ‘zar del contrabando de zapatos’ the “czar of shoe smuggling in Barranquilla ”. He was arrested on August 9. 

The Office of the Attorney General, in accordance with the citizen security guidelines drawn up by the Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa Delgado, charged the defendant with facilitating and favoring smuggling and impersonating industrial property rights and the rights of plant breeders. 

In the initial hearings, the court denied the request of deprivation of liberty, a decision that was appealed by the investigating body.
