The evidence collected by the Office of the Attorney General revealed the criminal history of Arleys Acosta Julio, alias Majute, alleged head of Clan del Golfo who would be responsible for organizing structures in Chocó and Urabá region to violently confront the ELN.
Alias Matuje allegedly joined the 58th front of the extinct FARC seventeen years ago. In 2010, he joined Clan del Golfo and was appointed as the head of a special group to carry out criminal actions against the security forces. Subsequently, and under the order of alias Chiquito Malo, he led 200 men and was in charge of the substructure ‘Central Urabá Turbo’, that is accused of committing murders and attacks, such as harrying the police station in Nuevo Antioquia, Turbo in November 2017.
According to investigations, alias Otoniel, maximum leader of Clan del Golfo, recently asked Arleys Acosta Julio to move to Chocó and reorganize armed structures to strengthen the confrontation against the ELN.
