At the request of the Sectional Prosecutor’s Office, the 1st Municipal Criminal Court (supervisory judge) in Arauca issued a detention measure with imprisonment against Nazario Alí Padilla Hernández, alias Mi Chino, considered as the political head of one of the criminal cells of the organized armed group GAO – ELN that commits crimes in at least 3 Departments in the eastern area of Colombia.
According to information gathered in the initial stage of the investigations, the defendant allegedly belongs to this illegal armed group since 20 years ago and would be responsible for coordinating, planning and ordering the kidnapping of businessmen of the agricultural sector in the Department of Arauca.
Padilla Hernández would also be in charge of promoting the criminal ideology of the group in the region by obtaining followers.
The area of influence in which, apparently, the arrested person committed crimes includes towns such as Sácama and La Salina (Casanare), Güican, El Cocuy and Chita (Boyacá) and Tame (Arauca).
