The Office of the Attorney General planned special actions to make progress in investigations against drug trafficking organizations and pursue them with determination during the period of preventive isolation that was decreed to control the spread of Covid-19. 

The capabilities of the Special Directorate against Drug Trafficking -Office of the Attorney General, the national authorities and the security forces of other countries have allowed to carry out 25 structural operations since March 16.

As a result of the offensive against the criminal networks that profit from transnational drug trafficking, 21 people were arrested, 41 drug production laboratories were destroyed,  about 3 and a half tons of cocaine hydrochloride and just over 2 tons of marijuana were seized.

The main results have been produced in the Departments of Antioquia, Bolívar, Cauca, Córdoba, Nariño, Norte de Santander, Sucre and Cundinamarca.

The operation known as ‘Resplandor II’ stands out since 41 drug trafficking complexes were located and seized in Antioquia, Córdoba, and Bolívar. The proceedings were carried out this week and solid and liquid chemical supplies, machinery used to process cocaine and a lot of evidence were seized.
