In its fight to protect children and teenagers from commercial sexual exploitation, the Office of the Attorney General managed to get the 3rd Municipal Court (guarantee court) to issue a preventive detention order against seven alleged members of a criminal organization called El Engaño.
Investigations revealed that the organization recruited elderly and underage women, mainly vulnerable women, especially from the Departments of the coffee growing area (in spanish Eje Cafetero) Caldas, Risaralda and Quindío.
