In the last hours a judge of Santa Marta issued a preventive detention order with imprisonment against two people who, according the Office of the Attorney General,  are responsible for illegally connecting pipes to extract water from the aqueduct of the main city of Magdalena.

It is about Pablo Castro (59 years old) and Germán David Paredes Duarte (60 years old) who were arrested when they were committing the offense that according to a  denunciation filed before the Office of the Attorney General, about 44,000 inhabitants were without water supply of the city despite the fact they were paying for the service. Among the people affected were the residents of rural settlement Puerto Mosquitos.

In addition, it generated a serious economic impact on company Empresa de Servicios Públicos de Santa Marta (ESSMAR).
