Among people arrested there are seven militaries in active duty and a civilian.
At the request of the Office of the Attorney General, the 65 Municipal Criminal Court in Bogotá issued a preventive detention order with imprisonment against five men, house arrest against another person and non-custodial sentences for other two individuals for the crimes of aggravated trafficking, manufacture or drug possession and criminal conspiracy.
The case was known by a prosecutor of Reaction Unit (Unidad de Reacción Inmediata URI) in Kennedy who learned from a non-formal source about the existence of a criminal structure called Sanidad which sold narcotic substances inside a battalion of the National Army which is located in Puente Aranda in the city of Bogotá.
On September 26, as a result of a judicial proceeding, professional soldiers Yostin Nicolás Moreno Carrillo, Edwin Andrés Urrea, Eduard David Pardo Hernández, Wilder Alexánder Zabala Lopera, Alexánder Osorio Osorio, Luis Miguel Peña Mogrovejo and the corporal José Gabriel de Alba Quiroz, as well as the civilian Andrés Felipe Baquero Díaz were arrested.
