Based on the evidence showed by the Office of the Attorney General, a judge hearing the case (juez de conocimiento) in Cúcuta (Norte de Santender) sentenced José Alonso Caballero Amado to 21 years and 3 months in prison for aggravated drug trafficking and manufacturing or drug possession.
The above mentioned person is under custody since May 2013 when he was arrested in the municipality of Tibú (Norte de Santander) in possession of 2,714 kilos of marijuana hidden in fruits named corozo.
According to what was it was established in the investigation, the illegal substance came from Corinto (Cauca) and would be taken to Venezuela.
