FOUR ALLEGED PEOPLE INVOLVED IN A CRIMINAL NETWORK ENGAGED IN ILLEGAL WIRETAPPINGS WERE ARRESTED

At the request of the 29th Municipal Prosecutor´s Office in Cali, three of four defendants were sent to prison for their alleged participation in a criminal network accused of illegally obtaining confidential information on companies, politics, members of police forces, judicial officers and private individuals in order to sell it to interested third parties.

People who remain in prison:

• Carlos Andrés Pérez Cardona, Retired Colonel – National Army and Chief of Security for mayor of Ipiales
• Jorge Humberto Salinas, Retired Colonel – National Army and Specialist in Intelligence
• Luis Mesías Quiroga Cubillos, Retired Major – National Army

As for María Alicia Pinzón Montenegro, known as Mary, and former employee of the Ministry of Information Technology and Communication, she was sentenced to house arrest.
