At the request of the Office of the Attorney General, a judge in San Andrés prosecuted Édgar Jimson Gómez García, 25, who was sent to prison.
The decision is based on facts that occurred on February 5 at a supermarket, downtown, in Las Proveedoras sector of San Andrés Island. The person allegedly entered the premises to intimidate the cashier and steal 3,580,000 COP and fled.
National Police officers arrrested the defendant as he entered a property located in El Cliff neighborhood. He was found in possession of the alleged stolen money, a revolver, and three cartridges (38 caliber), without official permits to carry them.
A prosecutor charged him with aggravated and qualified robbery and manufacture, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts, or ammunition. He did not plead guilty to the charges.
