The Office of the Attorney General brought Miguel Francisco Castillo Peñuela before a judge for being allegedly involved in the murder of a citizen during an argument in Cúcuta (Norte de Santander).
The events under investigation took place on November 12, on a public street in Quinta Vélez neighborhood, where the defendant allegedly participated in a fight with another citizen.
During the argument, Castillo Peñuela allegedly injured the victim with a bladed weapon. He was taken to a medical center but he died due to the severity of the wounds.
The man was arrested in flagrante delicto, and a prosecutor from the so-called Unidad de Vida of the branch office in Norte de Santander (Seccional Norte de Santander) charged him with aggravated homicide.
Castillo Peñuela pleaded guilty to the charges and was sent to prison by a judge.
