At the request of the Office of the Attorney General, a judge imposed a prison sentence against eight alleged members of ‘La Isla’, a criminal group allegedly involved in local drug trafficking in Ángel Ricardo Acosta neighborhood in Florencia (Caquetá). 

A prosecutor belonging to the branch office in Caquetá (Seccional Caquetá) charged them, according to their individual responsibilities, with criminal conspiracy; trafficking, manufacturing or possession of narcotics; and the use of minors to commit crimes. None of the defendants pleaded guilty to the charges. 

According to the investigation, this criminal group allegedly sold narcotics on public roads and in various properties in the area known as ‘La Isla’ in Ángel Ricardo Acosta neighborhood. 

In several search warrants carried out by CTI and National Police, the following individuals were arrested: Jorge Luis Lozano Caro, Lunio Canacue Salazar, Marcos Sierra Grisales, Yefferson Delgado Soto and Carlos Arturo Ultengo Muñoz. Moreover, Luis Aníbal Martínez Franco, Fener Augusto Trujillo Molina and Jerson Alexis Ordoñez Ruiz —who are already incarcerated—were formally informed about the charges.
