The Attorney General’s Office prosecuted Edgar Jesús Cantillo Arrieta, alias Chaves, an alleged member of a criminal group known as Los Transportadores, involved in drug trafficking from Catatumbo region to El Zulia, Villa del Rosario, and Cúcuta (Norte de Santander). 

According to the investigation led by a prosecutor, alias Chaves is allegedly responsible for the distribution and sale of illicit substances from El Zulia to Villa del Rosario. For these facts, the Office of the Attorney General charged him with aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime and trafficking, manufacturing, or possession of narcotics. 

During the preliminary hearings, the defendant, who was arrested on September 11 in Sincelejo (Sucre), did not plead guilty to the charges and was sentenced to a prison term.
