A prosecutor appointed to the Center for Assistance of victims of Domestic Violence (Centro de Atención Integral a Víctimas de Violencia Intrafamiliar (CAVIF in Spanish) brought a man before a judge in Pasto (Nariño) and charged him as the alleged perpetrator of domestic violence.
According to the investigation, on March 21, 2025, the victim who was the defendant’s sentimental partner, denounced her husband for verbal and physical attacks, the latter apparently using a fork.
On September 3, the man returned to the home where he allegedly hit the victim on various parts of her body. As a result of the attack, the woman was hospitalized.
CTI officers, in coordination with National Police officers, arrestred the alleged attacker near the so-called Plaza del Carnaval by virtue of a court order.
During the hearings, the man did not plead guilty to the charges. The judge in the case sentenced the defendant to prison.
