The Attorney General’s Office prosecuted four alleged members of the Carlos Patiño and Jaime Martínez fronts of the FARC dissidents who are currently detained in a prison in Cauca. The defendants were charged for being allegedly responsible for illegal recruitment. None of the defendants pleaded guilty to the charges.

Javier Enrique Trochez Dizú, Darwin Fernando Caicedo Caicedo, Yider Arley Cruz Méndez and Karen Tatiana Yacue Casos are allegedly involved in events that occurred in a rural area of the municipality of Patía (Cauca) on March 26, when the defendants allegedly used a 16-year-old minor to assemble a motorcycle bomb.

The explosive device was allegedly activated by Yacue Casos, killing one soldier and injuring other two, as well as the minor.

By virtue of a court order, the defendants must remain in prison.
