The defendants are allegedly involved in two homicides that took place last January.
The evidence presented by the Attorney General’s Office allowed a judge to impose a prison sentence on Yeirson Alberto Zapata Gómez, alias Simpson, and David Santiago Sepúlveda Loaiza, alias Richi.
These two individuals would be members of the Clan del Golfo criminal organization, and as such, they allegedly participated in two murders that took place in the municipality of Mistrató (Risaralda).
For these events, a prosecutor from the branch office in Risaralda (Seccional Risaralda) charged them, based on their potential individual responsibility, with homicide and the manufacture, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts, or ammunition; both aggravated offenses.
One of the incidents occurred on January 17 on the road leading from the municipality of Mistrató to the rural area of San Antonio del Chamí (Risaralda). Zapata Gómez, following the instructions of Sepúlveda Loaiza, allegedly shot a 29-year-old man, who died at the scene.
The second incident occurred on January 18 in Arrayanal neighborhood in the same municipality. It is believed that Sepúlveda Loaiza, accompanied by another person, attacked a 30-year-old man with a firearm, who died as a result of the attack.
Both crimes allegedly occurred due to the confrontation between illegal groups such as Clan del Golfo and Cordillera for the territorial control.
