At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence on Criss Stefany Pérez Lozano, allegedly responsible for collecting money demanded from several people from Acacias, San Martín and Villavicencio (Meta).
The defendant was arrested in Cali (Valle del Cauca) by Gaula of the National Police and was charged by a specialized prosecutor of the Sectional Office in Meta with conspiracy to commit crimes and extortion, both aggravated. She did not plead guilty to the charges.
According to the investigation, it was found that Pérez Lozano, as an alleged member of the ‘Clan del Golfo’, was in charge of receiving the money derived from extortion.
The victims were allegedly contacted by leaders of the illegal group who were in prisons and demanded via telephone the payment of sums between 10 and 25 million pesos, in exchange for not making and attempt on their lives and those of their families.
Apparently, there are other victims of these extortions in Norte de Santander and Risaralda.
