At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence on Wilson Darío López Giraldo, for his alleged responsibility in demanding money, together with other people, from ranchers and farmers in Vistahermosa (Meta), since 2018.
In this sense, a prosecutor of Gaula from the branch office in Meta (Seccional Meta) charged him with aggravated extortion with attempt. He did not plead guilty.
This person was arrested by Gaula of the National Police in Granada (Meta). According to the investigation, it was revealed that a group of people, including López Giraldo, pretended to be members of an armed organization to extort the victims.
The evidence shows that they arrived at the victims’ farms and demanded payment of 10,000 pesos for each head of cattle they had, so as not to make an attempt on their lives.
