The Attorney General’s Office prosecuted two teenagers for their alleged responsibility in the robbery of two French citizens in Medellín (Antioquia). The female minors, 15 and 16, were charged with qualified and aggravated theft. They did not plead guilty to the charges.
The 16-year-old defendant was sent to a juvenile detention center. For her part, the second person that was brought to justice was released, but will remain linked to the investigation.
The facts took place on January 21, in a building located in El Poblado neighborhood in Medellín, where the victims were staying.
According to the investigation carried out by a prosecutor appointed to Childhood and Adolescence Unit (Unidad de Infancia y Adolescencia) of the sectional Office in Medellín, it appears that the minors took advantage of the foreign citizens’ state of inebriation to beat them and rob 700,000 COP.
