At the request of a specialized prosecutor appointed to Gaula of the Sectional Office in Huila, a judge imposed a prison sentence against Jacinto Muñoz Salas, allegedly responsible for the crimes of aggravated kidnapping for ransom and manufacture, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition.

The facts took place on September 9, 2023 in the rural area of Holanda, small town of Bruselas in Pitalito (Huila). By that time, the victim was 17 years old and was at his home when, apparently, he was kidnapped by members of the Rodrigo Cadete front of FARC’s dissidents.

The Office of the Attorney General found that Muñoz Salas purchased a cell phone to record videos of the victim’s survival, and then they sent to alias Cristian, the head of finances of this illegal armed group with whom, it is believed, he had constant communication. Alias ​​Cristian was allegedly in charge of demanding payment of 3.000 million COP from the victim’s family in exchange for not killing him.

Muñoz Salas was arrested by Gaula of the National Police during a home search proceeding in a property in San Antonio del Valle neighborhood in Laboyos. During the operation, a traumatic weapon was seized.

The defendant did not plead guilty to the charges during the hearings.
