The evidence presented by the Attorney General’s Office allowed the prosecution of César Piter Vásquez Erazo, allegedly involved in the homicide of a citizen that took place on September 20 in Popayán (Cauca).
The Office of the Attorney General charged the defendant with homicide, after he was arrested in flagrante delicto by officers of the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) and the National Police. The arrest took place on a public road in the so-called 31 de Marzo neighborhood in Popayán. During the operations, the authorities seized a knife that was allegedly used to injure the man who eventually died.
The facts under investigation took place in the La Borrachera sector where an argument took place between the victim, 37, and the defendant. Vásquez Erazo did not plead guilty to the charges, and a judge imposed a prison sentence.
