The evidence presented by the Prosecutor’s Office allowed a judge to sentence Óscar Omar Delgado to 21 years in prison. He is responsible for the crimes of attempted and aggravated femicide and domestic violence.
The facts took place on May 23 in a house located in Juan XXIII neighborhood in Bucaramanga, where Delgado attacked his 46-year-old former partner with a stick, whom he also tried to suffocate. The woman was in the company of her sister and son when the attack took place. They were also injured.
The Office of the Attorney General proved that the convicted man was committing acts of physical, verbal and psychological violence against the three people, despite the fact that he was not living with the woman 10 years ago. They had 24 years of relationship.
Delgado was arrested in flagrante delicto by the National Police, after the neighbors warned about the attack and the damage caused to the house during the attack.
Delgado must serve his sentence in prison.
