A judge sentenced Adriana Carolina García Araque, alias La Mona, to 20 years and 4 months in prison for the crime of aggravated homicide and illegal possession of firearms.

The evidence collected showed that the 21-year-old woman was responsible for three murders that took place in October 2023 in Brisas del Mirador, Magdalena and Belén neighborhoods of Cúcuta (Norte de Santander).

The convicted woman was charged with the murder of Lennin Villamizar Leal, a homeless person known as El Cantante, which occurred on October 12.

The decision was made after García Araque pleaded guilty to the charges that were brought against her, and after she signed, freely and spontaneously, a preliminary agreement with the Office of the Attorney General. The woman was sent to the so-called Modelo prison in Cúcuta where she must serve her sentence.
