Five alleged members of the illegal organization Los Caimanes, allegedly engaged in local drug trafficking in Melgar (Tolima), were brought before justice by a delegate prosecutor of the Anti-Narcotics Unit of the Sectional Office in Tolima.
The defendants were arrested by the Police, the National Army and the Colombian Air Force and charged by the Office of the Attorney General with aggravated conspiracy to commit crimes and manufacture, trafficking or possession of narcotics.
The investigation revealed that the criminal network were committing crimes since the beginning of 2024. This network would be responsible for the illegal trade of cocaine in the municipality of Melgar, mainly in neighborhoods such as Centro, El Galán and El Balso.
The people involved are: Marcos Antonio Aldana Pérez, Khevin Alexander González Romero, Ibert Josué Fiquitiva Herrera, Juan Camilo Rodríguez and Yendri Alberto Villalobos Seprun, who were arrested in that municipality. None of the defendants pleaded guilty to the charges.
