A judge imposed a prison sentence on Yoiver Alberto Sanmartín Salcedo in San Sebastián Ternera prison in Cartagena. He was allegedly responsible for the murder of a woman that took place on October 1st 2023, in San Francisco neighborhood.
According to the investigation, on the day of the facts the defendant, 21 years old, was traveling in the rear seat of the motorcycle and shot repeatedly at the victim, who was sitting at the door of a home.
The 20-year-old woman was taken to a hospital, where she died due to the severity of her injuries.
Judicial police information revealed that Sanmartín Salcedo was the one who committed the crime. For this reason, he was arrested by the National Police in El Laguito neighborhood in Bolívar.
A prosecutor of the so-called Unidad de Vida (Life Unit) charged the defendant with aggravated homicide and manufacture, trafficking or possession of a firearm. He did not plead guilty to the charges.
