At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed a detention measure against 13 alleged members of the criminal group Los del Río, involved in petty drug dealing in Yumbo (Valle del Cauca).
According to the investigation, ‘Los del Río’ committed crimes in neighborhoods: Frey Peña, Guacanda, Belalcázar, near the gallery and the park of that town.
Judicial police work made it possible to establish that ‘Los del Río’ would use different places to sell marijuana, cocaine and bazooka in minimum doses.
Likewise, it was established that the people that was involved had defined roles as vendors, colleagues and suppliers who were led by alleged ringleaders.
The arrests were conducted in 13 search procedures ordered by the Prosecutor’s Office. Narcotics, a firearm, ammunition, cash and a cell phone were seized in the operations.
A prosecutor from the so-called Estructura de Apoyo of the Sectional Office in Cali charged the defendants, according to their alleged degree of participation, with aggravated criminal conspiracy; trafficking, manufacture or possession of drugs and; manufacture, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition.
