The Attorney General’s Office prosecuted Jonhatan Esaú Coral Rojas for his alleged responsibility in the extortion of a citizen in Nariño.
According to the investigation, the victim filed a denunciation for the theft of his vehicle in Guachucal (Nariño), in which he stated that several armed men who identified themselves as alleged members of a FARC dissident had participated.
Days after the theft, the complainant received several threats against his life in which he was asked to pay eight million pesos for the return of the vehicle. The money had to be handed over in a location that was going to be sent to his cell phone.
Gaula of National Police agreed to the controlled delivery. During the operation the arrest of Coral Rojas, who would be involved in the incident, was achieved.
A prosecutor from the so-called Estructura de Apoyo (EDA) charged the person under investigation, with extortion. He did not plead guilty. A judge sent him to prison.
